2023 marks the 25th birthday of Google, whose search engine has so permeated our lives that the company name has become a verb. This past year, OpenAI’s artificially intelligent ChatGBT began generating essays that are difficult to distinguish from human products. What is machine learning? What is artificial intelligence? What are the current challenges and potential benefits of these technologies? And how are they disrupting teaching and learning?
