SUMMARY:Vintage Computer Repair Workshop 2026-09-16
DESCRIPTION:Repair workshops are events that are open to the general public where members of all levels of technical abilities and experience get together to help each other repair vintage computer hardware. Repair workshops are a chance to work with other VCF members to help repair your vintage artifact. We are not there to do repairs for you\, only to allow you the facilities and partnership to help you figure out how to repair it. Repair workshops are held about 9 times per year at the InfoAge location in Wall\, NJ. \nCOST\n\n$15 per person\, per day. \nPAYMENTS\nThe $15/day Workshop fee can be made directly in cash to the person in charge of Workshop operations (varies)\, or electronically using the following payment services: \n\nPayPal:  @vintagecomputerfed\nVenmo: @VintageComputerFederation\nCash (in person)\nCredit card (in person on Square).\n\nOVERNIGHT\n\n\n\nMany Hotels and Motels are located near the InfoAge campus if you are visiting from out of town and want local lodging. During Summer and other high-priced calendar-based periods\, it’s not uncommon for several attendees to find shared lodging to save money. \nEQUIPMENT\n\nVCF will provide a table\, and you can use any available electrical outlet.\nBring your own tools\, power strips\, power cords\, and supplies\, etc.\nIf you need particular tools that you don’t own or particular parts\, please let others know that you need something. They may have what you need. Let them know ahead of time.\nLet everyone know what project you are working on ahead of time to inspire collaboration. You can make a note of your projects on the sign-up sheet (listed above) for the month you plan on attending. Other attendees do read those notes.\n\nDRINKS\nYou should bring your own. \nFOOD\n\nSaturday afternoon\n\nEveryone is on their own.\n\n\nSaturday Night Dinner at 7PM?\n\nWe often go out to dinner together. Optional. Usually\, the attendees agree and group to head out to a local restaurant.\n\n\nSunday Morning\n\nDepending on the size of the attendance\, we may decide the night before to meet at a diner around 9AM. This is NOT guaranteed\, and is usually planned and agreed upon by the attendees as they see fit.\n\n\nSunday Afternoon\n\nEveryone is on their own.\n\n\n\n  \nCODE OF CONDUCT \n \n\n\nADDRESS\nInfoAge Science and History Museums\n2201 Marconi Road\nWall\, NJ 07719\n\n\nPARKING\nParking is noted on the map below. \nNOTE: Parking during active museum hours\, between Noon and 5PM\, will be in the main InfoAge parking lot. Access to parking inside the gate may be refused by staff manning the gate during those hours. The gate staff has the final word on allowing your vehicle to enter the campus. \n\nDrive into campus from Marconi Rd.\, indicated by the PURPLE line\, then travel along the YELLOW line to the main gate.\nPass through the main gate if open. If not open\, someone may be tending the gate and can open it for you.\n\nLet the gate attendant (if present) know you are there for this month’s Workshop.\n\n\nDrive along the YELLOW route\, making a left or right at the “T”. You can park anywhere along the road indicated by the blue line. Do not park on the grass. Although you may park along the grass.\nEnter the building indicated by the Red outline. The door may be shut and appear locked\, but just pull on the door during Workshop hours\, and both doors should open.\nThe Workshop room will be down the hall and on your right.
