SUMMARY:A Brief History of Model Railroading
DESCRIPTION:A Brief History of Model Railroading\nBy Dave Albertson 2PM-3PM Hotel Lounge \nTracing the roots of Model Railroading back to the 1890’s. Manufacturers\, Inventions and Pioneers of Model Railroading that contributed to the hobby up to the present digital age.\nAbout The Speaker\nDavid Albertson is a lifelong Model railroader\, beginning with clockwork (wind up) train sets before age 5. At age 7 the traditional Lionel set was given at Christmas. Introduced to HO scale just before the Lionel set was gifted\, He was lost in the new detailed and proportional HO Scale. Christmas 1958 Santa left a HO scale set under the tree\, the “Lionel set was no longer interesting”.\nHe has been a member of the Garden State Central Model railroad since 1987. The club has helped him grow in skills and knowledge about the hobby. The most important part of the hobby “is the people who have graced my life along the way”.
