The piazza of the Marconi Hotel (9001) extends from the front half of the east wing, across the entire front, the west side wing and across the west wing rear. The piazza is in excellent condition due to its solid masonry construction. Brick columns support the imperial tile covered piazza roof (See Drawing - 9001 Front/Rear Elevations). The piazza's exposed wood rafters ends have a decorative pattern on the soffit ends. The piazza railing is a pattern of spaced bricks with a poured concrete top rail (Photo No. 15). The front portion of the piazza is currently divided by two security divider fences creating a restricted area (Photo No. 16) west of the center entrance.

Proposed Work
The only work proposed for the piazza is the painting of the exposed
wood rafter and soffit area during Phase I; later, removal of security
dividers during Phase III.
