Architecture Feature: Project Diana Site Perimeter Security Fence
 Date: 1941

WWII photos of the site show a perimeter security fence around the research area.  At the time the fence had concrete posts with barbed wire between the posts.  Later this was replaced with the current chain linked fence. The eight-foot high fence is topped with barbed wire and has been cut in numerous places.  The fence has two entrance gates (Photo No. 168) next to each other at the guard shack, a double vehicle gate facing building 9162 and a smaller pedestrian gate.

Proposed Work

The fence is an integral character feature of the Project Diana site and will be maintained. During phase I repair cuts in fence.  Also during Phase I prime and repaint any portions of fence requiring paint.
