Architecture Feature: Perimeter Security Fence around Marconi Wireless operations area
 Date: 1980s

During the 1980s a perimeter security fence was placed around the wireless operations buildings near the Shark River to protect them from vandalism, as they were no longer occupied.  The eight-foot fence topped with barbed wire has been cut in numerous places.  Inside the fence plants have grown into trees (Photo Nos. 159 - 160).

Photos: 159 and 160.

Proposed Work

During phase I repair cuts in fence and cut back overgrown brush to reduce potential of a brush fire spreading to buildings.  Establish temporary electrical service for security alarms and later repair work.  During Phase III renovations consider removing the fence which detracts from the appearance of the site.
