Architectural Feature: Exterior Shiplap Siding, and Doors
Date: 1942
This single story, wood frame 'L' shaped building (Photo No. 73) was built in 1942. It connects via a covered ramp to the Marconi Hotel (9001). The building is constructed of four units each using a standard 33-foot by 93-foot standard military Quartermaster plan. Each unit has a center hall and is jointed to the end of the next section. For ease of reference they have labeled sections A - D. Firewalls were constructed between sections C and D and between sections A and B. There is no firewall between sections B and C, which adjoin at the center of the 'L' shape. The shiplap siding, windows (Photo No. 74) and doors are in need of exterior paint. All exterior doors are original except for the interior and exterior sets of modern glass double doors on the west end entrance portico. The west section (Photo No. 75) was remodeled into a classified technical library. The central air-conditioning unit, south of this section, was damaged during sewer removal.

Proposed work
During Phase I, prepare, prime and paint all exterior surfaces. Repair minor corner siding damage. Also clean gutters and replace any damaged ones. Once complete, the building will be very similar to its 1942 appearance.
