Proposed work

Employing the services of a qualified architect and in consultation with the NJ-SHPO return the antenna shelter to its 1942 appearance.  This Phase V work would include removal of portions of the second floor structure.  The original design had a partial second floor, which resembled a balcony.  The future use of this structure would be as an SCR-268 radar exhibit.  Modifications to these radar systems were designed and tested in these special antenna structures throughout WWII and the Korean War.  Described as the "backbone of radar defense" by the National Defense Research Committee in its final WWII report the continued modifications to meet the challenges German and Japanese radar engineers presented to this type of radar was one of Camp Evans' many significant contributions in WWII.
