WITH THIS BALLOON the Signal Corps hopes to break its previous
record of 140,000, reached in a test last fall.  The balloon will be re-
leased at 1:15 p.m. tomorrow during ceremonies on the post parade
ground.

Web editor: This is a view of Camp Evans looking north from the balloon hanger.
One can see two of the WWW2 Antenna Shelters (9021 left and 9020 right).
The large antenna behind 9020 is an SCR-271D.   In the foreground is a radiosonde tracking
radar.

Camp Evans housed the Army's Meteorology branch beginning in 1942.
